"It is with ecstatic delight and great expectations that I, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor and Management of Bayero University, Kano, welcome you to this great citadel of learning and especially the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts. This department is going to be your home and your place of learning for the period of your stay in the university. While I congratulate you for gaining admission to study under this department, I also implore you to quickly settle into the new life that the university presents and remember where you are from, at all times. Amidst the freedom the university life promises you, you would also realize that there are rules, codes of conduct and general guidelines you are required to live by while you are still here. Consequently, this handbook is meant to guide students of the department of Theatre and Performing Arts on issues of registration, nature and history of the programme in Bayero University Kano, graduation requirements, grading system and other academic requirements. Students are equally advised to get and study the University’s Students’ Handbook and the General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR).
